|Porterdale is a town in Newton County, Georgia, United States. The population was 1,281 at the 2000 census. Porterdale was incorporated on March 10, 1917, and was named after Oliver S. Porter, a local mill owner. Porterdale is located at 333411N835353W / 33.56972N 83.89806W / 33.56972; -83.89806 (33.569585, -83.897968). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.0 square mile (2.6km2), all of it land.|
